gridform
SPACES // AS NARRATIVE GRIDFORM is an Istanbul based interior design studio founded by Mercan Tara Sisman. Rooted in her background in industrial and architectural design, Mercan approaches interiors with the precision of product design, where functionality and storytelling shape every decision. Through a restrained palette of tactile materials and carefully orchestrated light, the studio creates immersive spaces defined by atmosphere rather than ornament. GRIDFORM believes every space should hold a narrative, one that is experienced rather than explained. The studio’s work extends from Istanbul to Los Angeles and New York.

tarabya 14 //
Originally built in the 1960s, Tarabya 14 house underwent a complete transformation, with both its interior and exterior carefully reimagined. Stripped back to its essence, the project began by uncovering the building's original character before rebuilding it through a restrained selection of materials, textures, and details rooted in its architectural heritage. Drawing from the history of timber framed ottoman houses and the surrounding neighborhood, the design preserves the tactile qualities of the original home while establishing a renewed sense of identity. The result is an atmosphere that honors the past while offering a new way of inhabiting the space.
TESVIKIYE 11 is conceived as an exercise in restraint, where material, light, and proportion replace decoration. A handcrafted glazed ceramic surface envelops the interior, creating a tactile backdrop that shifts with reflection and time. Glass brick and solid concrete brick share the same proportions, allowing the material to transition seamlessly while maintaining a continuous architectural rhythm. Stainless steel interventions introduce moments of precision, while generous negative space allows each object to exist with intention.

fourseasons 28 //
FOUR SEASONS 28 is conceived as a showroom rather than a conventional store, offering an immersive setting for discovering the collection. A monumental accordion mirror introduces a playful element, multiplying perspectives and continuously shifting the perception of the space. As customers move through the interior, their reflections appear from changing angles, turning the act of viewing the collection—and themselves—into part of the experience. In contrast, the stainless-steel payment counter forms a precise, grounded presence, giving the space a clear focal point while reinforcing its refined, contemporary character.
